Explosions in the Sky

Explosions in the Sky. This is the artist I am listening to at this moment. No words, just music. No laid out story about a southern girl going to a club in L.A. (Miley Cyrus for those of you who don't get the reference)

Quiet and sweet. Dark and gloomy. Loud and awe inspiring.

actually listening to "Explosions in the Sky" is probably on of the most amazing musical experiences ever.

Sit back, unplug, and escape

Fall For You

Every day I wake up and see this girl next to me, I fall for her harder each and every time. She has me trapped, my leg caught in her trap, and I love it. I'm mesmerized by her looks, I melt when she talks. All it takes to turn my mood when I'm frustrated is one of her adorable laughs. Late nights in the library, she is right by my side. Cold nights at football games. She is right at my side.

I like alternative music. She likes country

I voted for Obama. She voted for McCain

I don't know what I believe in. She is Christian

But you know what? I've never like someone so much. I've never cared for someone as much as I care about her.

She loves my immaturity. She accepts who I am and compromises when we have differences. She laughs with me. She cries with me.

The struggle to be with her was hard. There were a lot of times I felt like giving in, giving up. But I can say this now: It was all worth it. This girl makes me happy. Happier then I have ever been.

She has even got me to appreciate country music a tiny little bit (emphasis on tiny) hahaha. But for people who know me, you would have never expected me to even listen to a country song. That's how much this girl influences me.

Me and her separate aren't perfect. But me and her together are perfect.

WAR DAMN!!!!!

WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!

Thats all I can say about these last few weeks. Auburn is amazing, friends are amazing, my life is amazing!!!!
Its been a while since I've posted anything. I guess I just kinda got caught up in all of my school work and partying, the 2nd of which i do the most.

But seriously, it has been an awesome first semester so far. I do miss some people from home (Dallas, that means you. haha), but to tell you the truth, there are a lot of people from back home I do not miss. People have changed. I have changed. I know the people who care about me and I know the people who don't.

Anyways, its a busy day. Bio test, bio lab, and sleep. hahaha.

Peace and Love

My Emptiness

I'm empty right now
For two days I've been with her
For two days I've hinted at how I feel
And for two days she's ignored it all
Its pathetic the way I try
Holding onto feelings that are not shared
Believing that the impossible could happen
That she would see me in a different light
Not the best friend, not the guy she just hangs with
But the guy she could hold hands with
The guy she could talk to late into the night
The guy she could hug and kiss
But I finally have realized
I've finally given up
She will never feel the same and I accept it

My stomach is one giant knot
My thoughts ripping away at my heart
I wish I could be with her
She is the best, she brings out the best in me
Best friends is just not enough

Mahatma Gandhi

"All the religions of the world, while they may differ in other respects, unitedly proclaim that nothing lives in this world but Truth."

"Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well."

"An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind."

"Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances."

"Faith... must be enforced by reason... when faith becomes blind it dies."

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."

"If I had no sense of humor, I would long ago have committed suicide."

"Love never claims, it ever gives; love never suffers, never resents, never revenges itself. Where there is love there is life; hatred leads to destruction."

Now this is the one person who I look up to the most. Mahatma Gandhi changed the world. His influence and actions shaped a whole generation of human beings. He preached of courage and standing up for what is right, however, he never condoned violence. Non-violent protest was mastered by Gandhi and people still use his methods today. But the most important message he preached to the world was love. Where there is love there is life. I love that quote.

Gandhi was shot and killed on January 30, 1948. He was walking toward his evening prayer meeting when a Hindu extremist ran up and shot him down. But even after his death, even after the many years, his message is still taught. Never have hatred, never search for revenge. Search for truth, and love every minute of it.

Martin Luther King Jr.

"What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love." - Martin Luther King

Such a great man. You may say what you want about the problems in his personal life, but he knew what life is all about. He is one of my personal heroes and I will always see him as an example that I should follow.
